Genoa each year commemorates the fact 'execution 17 partisans, but you forget the afternoon of the attack of March 22, 1945 when nine German soldiers were attacked by partisans of the "Brigade Balilla controlled "Baptist" on the road which leads to Cravasco Lavezzari Stone. The Germans proceeded in single file, two reconnaissance in the other seven behind. The men of "Balilla, stationed in the bushes near the cemetery, letting the small edge and waited to throw the largest group, which was quickly wiped out, then came the turn of the other two, killed by gunfire of" Baptist "(Angelo Scala) and" snake "(Poira Caramel). Also sets out a raid in the area, the partisans in the mountains just ran across the pitch to glue Mills voltage and then arrived in a deserted place called the Water-ribbed, hiding in a barn. As he told the newspaper "Work" on Saturday March 24, 1945, while five soldiers died on the spot, the senior who fell four wounded, was finished with a shot in the neck.
Precisely because of an unwillingness to take prisoners from the partisans, came the prompt retaliation by the German High Command, who ordered the shooting of prisoners already sentenced to death by a court for various war crimes.
The German soldiers who fell, often portrayed as belonging to the SS were actually aggregates all 'Army, specifically the Third Battalion Fortress (Festung Bataillon ) di stanza a Campomorone con compiti di guarnigione. Questi i loro nomi:
Hans Schwartz, Caporale, anni 21;
Walther Labhan, Caporalmaggiore, anni 22;
Wilhelm Oberndorfer, Caporale, anni 20;
Rudolf Meister, Caporale, anni 32;
Jakob Putz, Caporalmaggiore, anni 28;
Eduard Kruger, Granatiere, anni 39;
Paul Johann Fischer, Vice-capo,anni 38;
Hans Wilhelm Schroder, Corporal, 22 years;
Rudolf Platt, Corporal 21 years.
All soldiers have an excellent relationship with the civilian population so that the 01/01/1945 one of them, Johannes Girrulat, Corporal twenties, lost his life in an attempt to quell the flames in a house located near the garrison who had accidentally taken fire for this country, grateful, attended the funeral which took place in compact Campomorone.
For this reason, besides the fact that the Obergruppenfuehrer Karl Wolf, a few days earlier, having realized that the war was over, ordered him to limit military intervention to defend itself in anticipation of a possible withdrawal of troops, still it is hard to understand why the column was massacred German massacre, which inevitably led to the retaliatory German with the shooting of 17 prisoners in the prison of Marassi above.
But the retaliation was also a tragic result: 4 April 1945, the partisans, with the consent of the Allied missions, took a controrappresaglia be performed on forty prisoners of the Concentration Camp Rovegno.
Concentration Camp (ex-Fascist Cologne, here in photo) that the war is now over was the scene of further executions of fascists Civil and Military.
"Baptist" from Rovegno therefore taken 39 prisoners, bringing them at the Monte Carlo, in loc. Vixella, where they were massacred. Among those executed, two were civilians, nine German soldiers; 14 former German Army Military Soviet prisoners of war, probably Kazakhs, 13 soldiers of the Black Brigade of Alexandria and a Bersagliere.
Here 's the list of some of them that I know of:
Albalustro Second, 17 years;
Bagnasco Angelo, anni 17;
Bianchi Martino, anni 17;
Buzzo Lazzaro, anni 18;
Costantino Giulio, anni 18;
Gaeta Giuseppe, anni 18;
Gianelli Angelo d'anni 18 (figlio del Ten. Col. Gianelli Celeste fucilato poi a Rovegno il 29/4/1945);
Raciti Armando, anni 16;
Raffaghello Stefano, anni 16;
Riccardi Giuseppe, anni 19;
Senna Giovanni, anni 16;
Vagaggini Alfredo, anni 17;
Viola Angelo, anni 17.
